ENEOS GLOBE will comply with all laws and regulations related to the protection of personal information. We have established the following policy regarding the handling of customers’ personal information, and will take all necessary measures to ensure the proper handling, safe and secure management, and use of personal information. We will also strive to continuously review and improve our systems for the protection of personal information. We may ask our customers to provide the following types of personal information, limited to items that are necessary in order to provide our services.

  • The customer’s name, email address, zip code, address, telephone number, etc.
  • The customer’s age, date of birth, gender, job, etc.
  • The customer’s family structure, lifestyle, etc.
  • Services the customer uses, the customer’s hobbies, etc.
    Although customers are not necessarily required to answer all questions pertaining to each of the above items, non-provision of personal information may limit the services that we are able to provide.

Collection and use of personal information

We will collect customers’ personal information through appropriate means, publicly announce/notify/clearly state the purpose of use of personal information, and will not handle personal information beyond the scope of the stated purpose of use without the consent of the individual in question.

Purpose of use of personal information

We will utilize customers’ personal information for the following purposes in our sales and security services related to liquefied gas, sales of distributed energy systems such as fuel cells, solar cells, and cogeneration systems, industrial fuel conversion, sales agency services for electricity and city gas, and other related business activities.

(1) Sales and marketing activities via postal mail, e-mail, telephone, etc., analysis of customer trends, or surveys and analysis for the development of products or sales methods, etc.
(2) Contacting winners of drawings during campaigns, responding to requests for informational materials, etc.
Furthermore, in the following cases, we may use personal information without contact to the customer directly or public disclosure.

(1) If there is a risk that informing the customer of or publicly disclosing the purpose of use may damage the life, health, property, or other rights and profits of the customer or a third party. (2) If there is a risk that informing the customer of or publicly disclosing the purpose of use may damage the rights or appropriate profits of the ENEOS GLOBE Group. (3) If cooperation is required for a national agency or regional organization to fulfill legally determined work and there is a risk that informing the customer of or publicly disclosing the purpose of use may impede the fulfillment of the said work. (4) If the purpose of use is deemed obvious from the status of acquisition.

Security Management Measures for Protection of Personal Information

(1) Basic policy

We have established this Privacy Policy to ensure appropriate handling of personal information.

(2) Preparation of discipline regarding the handling of personal information

We have prepared internal regulations that provide rules on the acquisition, use, disclosure and management of personal information, as well as on the responsibilities of persons handling personal information.

(3) Organizational security management measures

We have prepared a system necessary for the protection of personal information, with the President as chief executive on this matter.

(4) Personal security management measures

We provide training sessions to our employees regarding the matters to be noted in handling personal information.

(5) Physical security management measures

We take security management measures to prevent theft, loss, etc. of any equipment, electronic media, documents, or the like that deal with personal information.

(6) Technical security management measures

We control the access, qualifying persons who may handle each item of personal information.

(7) Understanding the external environment

When storing personal information outside Japan, we will first obtain information on the related systems in the country in question and then take appropriate security management measures. At present, we do not store any personal information outside Japan.

Subcontracting the Handling of Personal Information

We may subcontract the handling of personal information to external subcontractors. In such cases, we will select companies that have implemented adequate measures to protect personal information, and will supervise such companies appropriately thereafter.

Provision to Third Parties

As a rule, we do not share personal information with third parties. However, when providing information to subcontractors as described in item 4 above, or in the circumstances listed hereafter, personal information may be shared with or disclosed to a third party.

Joint Utilization

Our customers’ personal information may be used jointly by parties as detailed below

(1) Items of personal information to be used jointly: Any and all personal information we have obtained. (2) Scope of parties who jointly use personal information: ENEOS Holdings Inc., ENEOS Corporation, ENEOS GLOBE Energy Co., Ltd, and ENEOS GLOBE Gas Terminal Co., Ltd. (3) Purposes of use of joint utilization: The purposes of use as described in item 2 above. (4) The party responsible for joint utilization: ENEOS GLOBE

Disclosure of Personal Information

If a customer wishes to request disclosure of their own personal information held by us, we will respond to the request within a reasonable period and scope after verifying that the person making the request is the party in question.

Amendment, Partial Deletion, etc. of Personal Information

If a customer wishes to amend, add, or delete their own personal data held by us, we will amend, add, or delete the information within a reasonable period and scope after verifying that the person making the request is the party in question and in the case that there are inaccuracies in the information.

Cessation of Use/Deletion of Personal Information

If a customer wishes to request the cessation of use or deletion of their own personal data held by us, we will cease use of or delete the data within a reasonable period and scope after verifying that the person making the request is the party in question. Please understand that if we cease to use or delete part or all of such information, we may not be able to provide the services you request.

Verification of the Identity of the Customer/Their Proxy

If the request is made by the customer in question, we will confirm the identity of the customer by verifying with the customer’s driver’s license, passport, health insurance card, seal registration certificate, etc., or by calling back to the telephone number registered with us and confirming the customer’s name, address, telephone number, and other information registered. If the request is made by a proxy, we will verify the identity of the proxy by confirming the letter of attorney and the certificate of registered seal of the seal stamped on the letter of attorney, as well as by calling the person in question by telephone.
